We are located among the Allagash, Aroostook, and Musquacook Watersheds. Some of the best trout rivers in Northern Maine. We are also surrounded by various streams and more than 20 remote trout ponds only a short distance away.
Fishing with one of our experienced guides only enhances your trip. Whether you are a beginner learning the basics while casting over native brookies or an experienced fisherman and guide, hunting for one of our famous trophy squaretails. We operate in a vast untouched environment sharing the experience with moose, deer, osprey, bald eagles and more. At times walking the same historic trails as travelled by past legends; Theodore Roosevelt, J.P. Morgan, Will Atkins and more. We cherish and protect our resources and expect you to do the same.
Fly fishing the North Maine Woods for Wild Native Brook Trout. The season begins mid may after the ice leaves our lakes, ponds and rivers. Following our smelt runs of early spring and a brief white sucker spawn the water starts to warm up. Late May and June brings the mayfly and caddis hatches, followed by alder flies, stoneflys and other terrestrials in July.
Typically during mid-summer the brook trout move to the deep pools, spring holes or into the lakes to feed, only to return in the September and October to spawn. We fish until late October and experience tremendous fall fishing for large native brook trout in spawning dress during this time.
Our fishing packages are only suggestions, we may create whatever experience you desire. We specialize in doing it your way, whether it be scheduled meals, destinations etc.
We specialize in small private groups to offer a more personal touch to the North Maine Woods Experience.
