First week of June Report…

Our wild brook trout have started looking up. Our moving water, rivers and streams are hot with clouds of caddis covering the water, The Allagash is peaking with ideal water temps and flows, producing 15” fish in double digits on nymphs and dries alike. Mayfly hatches have been spotty so far with only a few here and there, mostly in the afternoon. The nymphs are still fooling the biggest Brook trout with soft hackles coming in with a close second. Our trout ponds are coming into their prime. Hatches beginning mid-day with the trout feeding all afternoon. Lots happening on and in the waters of the North Maine Woods. River, stream and pond fishing is getting better daily and the best fishing is yet to come. Water temps have climbed 10 degrees in a week with averages pushing the mid 60’s.   PRIME TIME!
