Maintaining a traditional Maine Sporting Camp with nearly 100+ year old cabins is always a challenge. Actually more of a labor of Love! Things were built right and to last back then and we take considerable care to keep it that way.
One of our ‘little’ chores for August was to replace a bed log on the Lodge. For those of you that felt ‘a little tilt’ coming through the kitchen or dining room in the past you will be happy to know it wasn’t your vertigo!
This project required 50 foot logs that were harvested and peeled off the yard. What started out as just one log to do quickly became two!
Hopefully these as well will be good for another 113 years.
Thanks Skylar for the great help!
