Maine Fly and Dine Flight Path and Scenery
This amazing Maine Fly and Dine scenic wilderness flight provides incredible views of Baxter State Park and the Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument. It then proceeds over the vast and beautiful North Maine Woods to Chandler Lake Camps and Lodge. One of the oldest traditional Maine sporting camps operating in the Aroostook and Allagash watersheds located in the heart of the 3.5 million acres of the North Maine Woods.
Landing on our pristine lake and stepping out onto our floating dock you will be greeted by awe inspiring sights and silence. We are the only Lodge on the lake and we are nearly 30 miles from the nearest town.
Your flight would leave from the south side of Baxter State park (SPB) and go over or around the Mountain range to Chandler Lake Camps and Lodge with an approximate flight time of 45 min. Returning via the east side of the mountain flying over the New Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument.
Maine Fly and Dine Food
The meal you will be served while here at Chandler Lake Lodge will be superb. Many of our long time and repeat guests consistently tell us the food keeps them coming back. Meals are all homemade with locally sourced ingredients with as much field to table ingredients as possible.
We maintain our own garden here at the Lodge and utilize all the goodness it provides us in the meals we prepare for our guests.
All meals are served with our famous homemade breads and desserts as well. In a busy week our Chef makes in excess of 60 Loaves of fresh Bread. Yes the Lodge smells FANTASTIC from all this cooking! The fresh coffee is always on an we love feeding our guests as much as sharing the beauty of the North Maine Woods with them.
You can choose to come for lunch or dinner as your meal. In some cases you can even do both!* Our partner air service Katahdin Air can be very flexible offering no set departure times from their Sea Plane Base. As our schedules, bookings and weather allow return from Chandler Lake Lodge can be after lunch or dinner and before dark.
We offer many additional experiences here at Chandler Lake Lodge to pair with your Maine Fly and Dine experience. You are of course welcome to stroll the grounds or just sit back in one of our many fine handmade chairs and enjoy the beauty of Chandler Lake and the view of Chandler Mountain.

For the more adventurous and those looking to enjoy some other activities while joining us here in the North Maine Woods we do offer several other services such as:
- Canoe/ Kayaking and Swimming on Chandler Lake. Wildlife watching. Loons, Moose, bald eagles are common visitors.
- Half day of fly/spin fishing with a Professional Maine guide. All equipment provided and instruction available.*
- 20 station Grouse Walk Sporting Clays Course Shooting course for all ages. Instruction and equipment can be provided.*
- Half day trips on local rivers and streams. With or without a guide.*
For those of you choosing to take part in any of these adventures we offer at no additional charge the services of our Full bath with shower House during your visit to freshen up after activities if you wish.
