COVID-19 Update – Status of Chandler Lake Camps and Lodge

In these historic and trying times we truly hope this finds you all healthy and well.  We are very blessed here in Northern Maine with our remoteness, one of the things that has driven so many of you to come share the North Maine Woods with us in the past.  During a pandemic such as Covid-19 it is geography that provides the ultimate social distancing, located in Aroostook County, a county the size of Rhode island, and our Camps being located nearly 30 miles from town in 3.5 million acres of Industrial Woodland certainly distances us from people.

As we are still about a month from ice out in our part of the world and have 3+ feet of snow still on the ground no guests or staff have stayed at the Camps and Lodge since mid-November.  In about two weeks we will be returning to begin our normal Spring opening and cleaning in anticipation of Ice Out.  On top of the normal cleaning our guests have become accustomed to we will be taking much higher measures to clean and disinfect all Cabins and the Lodge to the strictest standards in preparation of what we all hope will be a return to normalcy for all.

At this time the Governor of Maine has ordered a ‘stay healthy at home order’ until May 1st.  It is very encompassing and does prevent us with good reason not to resume normal operations until it is lifted.  For the full Executive Order click here.

We understand how stressful this time is for everyone and we would like to do our part as well to help relieve some of the stress of the situation.  In lieu of this we are extending the terms of re-booking via our normal cancellation policy to 2 years.  We hope this will not be a necessary option for our valued guests yet realize that the timeline for a return to normalcy is still fluid at this time.

Thank You and Be Well!
