July 2016 Fishing Report!

Great people from all over the country have joined us for what Northern Maine and the Allagash River has to offer. Beautiful scenery, wildlife and of course, the fishing. From the early Hendrickson’s to  the crazy Caddis season we have fished on top, dredged the bottom and nymphed our way through the most productive waters our area has to offer. Lakes, ponds, rivers and streams, we often fish a different water every day. Now our monster mayfly hatch has begun on our lakes and ponds, inspiring BIG NATIVE BROOK TROUT to make pigs of the themselves.  Big dries on the surface are the rule of the day. It seems every trout in the water is looking up with caution to the wind. Hard deliberate strikes and they just keep coming. We fish when the fish are biting, adjusting our schedules to make your trip as good as it can be. Late nights are the norm this time of year.  For our dedicated upland hunters the good news is a great hatch for 2016.  Early grouse sightings were promising and with warm dry weather the hatches are everywhere. Five broods have welcomed us in our driveway alone.  With a dedicated crew and our great guides we look forward to what the remainder of July has to offer. We still have a few open  July dates.  Remember the Allagash River celebration is July 23rd and we still have accommodations available.

No minimum stays, no fly-outs needed and fish the best waters Northern Maine has to offer.
