Water flows and temperature couldn’t be any better. Our Mayflies are just beginning to show and the Brook Trout are finally looking UP! We are still having fun with streamers on the Allagash but the Blue wing Olives are starting to show. The trick of the week with the varying temperatures is to change and change often. We have been throwing streamers, dries and the old reliable Copper John as a dropper. All in the same hour with fish on. We know we are fishing over fish so the plan is to succeed and we do. Pond activity has started with some impressive evening hatches. Our Brook Trout have wintered well and obviously put on some weight. Fat foot balled shape and wild. Life couldn’t get better in the North Maine Woods. The inspiration for the week is the Hendrickson, anxiously awaiting his arrival. Tight Lines from the North Maine Woods.
We spent some time with our Fisheries staff. Churchill Dam 20″ Brook Trout and Lake Trout 25″ 17 Lbs.
